As I'm still on Andromeda topic, I'd like to extend the post from last week. What was my initial reaction when I first encountered the Architect boss? Fear of the unknown, surprise or I can summarize it like... wtf is this "thing"!
What happened yesterday? I was playing the game and encountered another one of those "things". This time what was the initial reaction: "Give me more to kill!" I was confident, I already knew what comes next and how to overcome it.
It was absolutely the same with programming. First time I had to make some architecture for a project it was again - wtf?! Then the second time it was much easier, as I was familiar with the tools and ways to do it.
I believe this is how we as human beings learn. The biggest problem for each of us is to make this leap of faith and engage in the first encounter. Sometimes it is forced on us, sometimes we chose it. No matter how we end up gaining the experience, it's always a good thing, and we must remember that before we can become good at it, we must feel uncomfortable.
Let me know in what area have you experienced this feeling of discomfort in the comments below.
Keep learning and may the Force be with you!
